Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant (in Ballard)

Can I just say, “wow!”

I had one of the specials from their winter lunch menu and was pleasantly surprised!

It was a tough choice. I was quite stuck between the Chicken Marsala and the Pumpkin Ravioli. Since the ravioli was seasonal, I went with it.

  • Description: Pumpkin and caramelized onion filled ravioli, fresh sage cream sauce, roasted butternut squash, crisp pancetta.

I was not, by any measure, let down. The raviolis were cooked to perfection, with a cream sauce that was well balanced and complimented the pasta very well. This says a lot, coming from me. If there was a “dislike button” for cream sauces, 90% of the time I’d be pushing it. The pancetta was a nice touch, both flavor-wise and texturally.

I was very happy with this dish, and will have to go back before it disappears from Lombardi’s seasonal menu. I suggest you do so, as well!

The previous owners of Lombardi’s had an even better chef on staff. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still quite yummy, it was just that much better then. Kinda sad, but not really.

My husband and I have been to the Ballard and Everett Marina Lombardi locations and were more than pleased with each visit. We both were just blown away by the pumpkin ravioli, too, but all of their dishes (that we’ve tried) are just delicious! Great service, wonderful menu and beautiful restaurants. 5 stars from us 🙂
