Southern Gentleman – Poem (2010)

The crisp static of your fingerprints

anticipation

wrapped in purplish tints

an electrified humidity.

.

Enfold my stormy torso

thundering,

moist and dense

persuaded by forearms that envelop

an engrossing force

of nature’s

subtle strength

shifted

I submit.

.

Adrenaline crackling

palms pressed into

white hot welds

bright

flashes of slowed time.

.

Our whispers twisted

an eddy of intensity

verdant lush prickling fringes of still life.

.

Your sultry scent

loamy.

I moan,

intoxicated

overwhelmed.

Brewed rapidly,

our tempest breath

heavy with fervor and fire.

.

Limbs sliding against one another

as Eastern Redbuds

sigh in the bend

of the wind

heart-shaped leaves, entangled.

.
